Learn about Rocky Mountain Mushrooms with Yours Truly

The Sciences

If you live in Colorado’s Front Range, you can come learn about our local mushrooms from me live and in person this August. I will be teaching the class “Mushrooms of the Front Range” for the Boulder County Nature Association, and we still have at least 6 spots left. The dates are August 3, 5, and 19 and it costs $80.

I will cover the basic biology of mushrooms and fungi, their toxins, and some of the most common (and edible) mushrooms you might find. More offbeat topics include how to not get lost in the woods and the art of the mushroom hoot. The first date is a classroom lecture and the second two dates are Saturday morning field trips in the mountains. If our annual monsoon rains come at the end of July (it has been super dry here lately), we may actually find some real mushrooms ourselves!

More details here; you can sign up for the class here. Hope to see a few of you there!
